Rehabilitation & Fitness
We help athletes and everyday people recover from surgery, injury and pain.
What does Rehabilitation mean
This is generally explained as the ultimate goal of returning to your original condition. Aiming to restore good health and the ability to live, work or perform to the same level as prior to your injury, condition or surgical procedure.
Our health team is caring, committed, and experienced in the recovery process. Using a combination of hands on treatment, pain relieving modalities and individualised tailored exercise programs we have helped a multitude of people to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Our Physios and exercise physiologist are highly skilled with a special interest in achieving these outcomes for our community. We have an individual approach for all levels of ability, lifestyle, goals and expectations. Rehabilitation maybe required for
- musculoskeletal and sporting injuries,
- orthopaedic or spinal surgery,
- vestibular or neurological conditions,
- cardiac and respiratory compromise, and
- many of the chronic health conditions.
Remember the length of your rehabilitation will depend on the nature and severity of your injury as well as your individual circumstances. Your past history also plays a large role in how you will recover.
Adherence to exercise programs also plays a vital part of the recovery process. We do our best to provide support and encouragement along the journey to help you maintain focus, accountability and engagement. Flexible exercise options… offsite, in clinic or at home are encouraged to facilitate adherence to your treatment and programs ….we understand that it is all too easy to fall off the wagon !
We also to go beyond simply treating the symptoms of your injury. We aim to help you recover and reduce future injury risks by getting to the causes and injury maintaining factors.
Whether you are an elite athlete, weekend warrior or just want to be strong and pain free, our injury treatment and rehabilitation techniques will help you be at your best.
Fitness
Fitness is not just being able to run quickly or lift heavy weights, it is also the ability to execute daily activities with optimal performance, endurance, and strength with the management of disease, fatigue, stress and reduced sedentary behaviour.
So fitness can mean different things to different people.
At Hindmarsh Physio and Sports we have experienced Physios and Exercise Physiologist to help you achieve your definition of fitness.
Pain can often be a limiting factor, our health team can structure a program around your injury, illness or condition to accommodate these issues. We understand that its often not easy to start exercising after an extended period of inactivity or whilst also trying to mange other health conditions.
We have both individual and a range of successful group exercise classes tailored for improving fitness and specific injuries and conditions, all designed to optimise your recovery …Pilates, strength and conditioning, balance and flexibility, or dedicated knee pain and back pain classes are available.
