Clinical Pilates
Pilates is an exercise technique, which focuses on gentle strengthening, balance and flexibility. "Clinical Pilates" is a modified form of therapeutic exercise used by Physiotherapists to assist in your rehabilitation and the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
It is an ideal rehabilitation tool, incorporating postural re-alignment with spinal stability. We strive to treat your symptoms and to correct the causative factors and thus prevent further problems. By addressing all components of the presenting injury, our individualized Clinical Pilates sessions aim to correct abnormal postures and movement patterns to reduce and prevent pain long term.

Close supervision of your technique and graded exercises ensure optimum safety and injury prevention. It is suitable for ALL ages and is great for general body strengthening and toning. Pilates can help with spinal pain, pre and post joint surgery, incontinence, osteoporosis, ante and post natal exercise. Pilates also decreases the risk of injury and depression.
Pilates exercises can be done on a mat or by using our specialized Pilates equipment, such as The Reformer or the Trapeze Table. We also use other exercise equipment, including the gym-balls, smaller dumbbells and exercise bands, which are then incorporated into our Pilates inspired exercise based approach.
Sessions can be done individually or in a small class. It is necessary to have an assessment with one of our Physiotherapists and some individual sessions prior to starting the beginner classes. You can then have an individual program designed and supervised by our Physiotherapist until you are confident with the program. If the classes are not convenient, you may book your session in the Pilates Studio and exercise independently, with regular reviews and updating of your program by our Physiotherapists at your convenience.
Individual sessions are available Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays. Currently classes Wednesday and Friday Mornings and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/ evenings. Sessions can be purchased individually or in blocks of 5 or 10.
